    1. This tool from @themarkup is pretty cool (great name too). It visits a site and tells you what kind of tracking, etc it's using. I took a look a look at a few racing sites, the results are not surprising 1/x themarkup.org/blacklight/

Let's start with Equibase, 29 trackers, 43 3rd party cookies, fingerprints presumably for scraping, it tells Facebook when you visit their site and lets Google follow you around the internet. It's also interacted with many ad-tech companies 2/x

Bloodhorse is nowhere near the bonkers level of tracking as its fellow Jockey Club property, but uses the same fingerprinting by Geetest 3/x

DRF looks tame in comparison with 6 ad trackers, 3 3rd party cookies but they do let Google follow you around the internet. 4/x

Paulick Report is roughly on par with DRF with 7 ad trackers and 2 3rd party cookies + letting Google follow you around the internet 5/x

And back up in the tracking stratosphere is Horse Racing Nation with 30 ad trackers, 69 3rd party cookies and lets Google follow you around the internet. Also a lengthy list of ad-tech 6/x

In fairness I looked at the sites I'm involved with and am happy to report no tracking. Worth noting @replaygenerator uses a "nocookie" embed or it would probably have at least several third party cookies 7/x

We use Google Analytics on HRF & R360 with no "remarketing audiences", but should probably remove it all together. At any rate, worth using Blacklight to check out your frequent haunts! 8/8
